PSL 9: Islamabad United Pacers Restrict Karachi Kings to 150

RAWALPINDI: Islamabad pacers and spinners managed to restrict Karachi Kings to 150 for the loss of 7 wickets in the 24th contest of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9th edition at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Earlier winning the toss Islamabad United invited Karachi Kings to bat first. Karachi Kings openers Shan Masood and Tim Seifert provided a reasonable start for the team however Faheem Ashraf from the United managed to get rid of Shan on 10 when the score reached 34 in the 5th over. In the 7th over Faheem got his 2nd wicket and removed the other opener Tim Seifert on 26. 

After losing 2 wickets the middle order also collapsed except James Vince as Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Nawaz also departed in no time. At the stage Kings were 49 for 4 in 8.2 overs. Vince was joined by Pollard to push the scoreboard ahead. However in 14th over Mills took his 2nd to remove Venice on 29, when the total reached 107. 

Meanwhile, Kieron Pollard who also played well in the previous games stayed on the crease and took his side to a better position. He scored crucial 39 runs off 28 balls before he was dismissed by Hunain Shah. The next was Irfan Khan who added 16 runs to the total. Later the tail added a few runs to the total. In 20 overs Karachi Kings scored 150 for the loss of 7 wickets.

From Islamabad United Tymal Mills was the leading wicket taker with 3 for 34 in 4 overs. Faheem Ashraf bagged two wickets while Imad Waseem and Hunain Shah got 1 wicket each.
