RAWALPINDI: Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultan by 7 wickets to secure two crucial points in an important thriller of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9th edition at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Chasing a low target of 119, Karachi Kings took a cautious start, however, lost their first wicket when the skipper and opener Shan Masood was dismissed by Muhammad Amir for 7 in the 2nd over. He was replaced by James Vince who along with the other opener Tim Seifert took the scoreboard to a secure position. Both added 50 50-run partnership for the side before Hosein got rid of Vince on 27.
On the other hand, Tim Seifert played a responsible inning and took the game almost to the victory point before he was removed by Abrar Ahmad on 49. The rest were made by Shoaib Malik and Irfan Khan, Kings reached the target in the 16thover and bagged the victory against Gladiator by 7 wickets
From Quetta Gladiator Muhammad Amir, Hosein and Abrar Ahmad got one wicket each.
Earlier winning batting first and despite getting a solid start, Quetta Gladiator’s batter particularly the middle order displayed a poor show while losing quick wickets with interval. Only Saud Shakil managed to score 33 on 28 balls. The rest of the batters added individual scores below 20, as the 2nd top scorer was Khwaja Nafay while adding just 17 to the total. Gladiator managed to score just 118 runs all out in 19.1 overs.
From Karachi Kings Hasan Ali was the most successful bowler bagging 4 for 15 in his 4 over. Muzarabani and Zahid Mehmud got 2 wickets each while Mir Hamza took 1 wicket.
