PSX Ends Losing Run, Gains 303 Points to Settle at 45,400

ISLAMABAD: After having a downward trend for the last 4 days the KSE-100 ended its bearish trend on Thursday while gaining 303 points (0.67%) compared to 45,098 last day.

On Thursday mostly the top-tier companies and sectors including banks, oil, gas sectors, and automobiles remained in the green zone with interest in buying.

A few days back, after reaching near the historic 46 thousand benchmarks, the 100-index started losing for a couple of days. However, on Thursday, the market bounced back.

During the trade, the volume of shares significantly increased to 464.23 million from 245.45 million, the previous day. The value of shares transacted went up to Rs10.1 billion from Rs9.4 billion last day.

Top Trading Companies at PSX

On Thursday, WorldCall Telecom occupied the top position as the major volume leader with 185.19 million while Bank of Punjab settled as the runner-up with 19.5 million shares followed by K-Electric with 15.89 million shares.

In total 347 companies traded their shares, whereas 227 registered gains while 93 companies sustained losses and the remaining 27 companies traded their shares with no change.
