PSX Loses 116 Points to Settle at 46,277.66

ISLAMABAD: The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Tuesday showed a mixed reaction with a slight bearish trend, as most of the top-tier companies preferred to avoid buying. On the close of the trade, the index lost 116.02 points with a negative change of 0.25 percent to settle at 46,277.66 points compared to 46,393.68 points on Monday.

On Tuesday, a total of 259,046,624  shares valuing Rs 6.688 billion were transacted against 195,674,788 shares valuing Rs 5.530 billion last day.

Bearish Trend at PSX

In total, 328 companies traded their shares in the stock market, 142 of them witnessed gains and 165 remained in the negative zone with loss, whereas the share price of 21 companies experienced no change.

Most of the top-tier companies except a few including Nestle and Rafhan avoided buying. However second tier and third-tier companies experienced some gains. PIAC(A) remained the leader among the top three companies with 39,589,500 shares at Rs  5.54 per share, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 26,122,922 shares at Rs 1.15 per share, while K-Electric Ltd settled as number three from the top with 11,090,355 shares at Rs 1.96 per share.

Nestle Pakistan recorded a maximum appreciation in its per share with an increase of Rs 190.00 to settle at Rs 7,190.00, whereas Rafhan Maize settled as the runner-up with an increase of Rs 123.33 per share per share to close at Rs 7,990.00.

Meanwhile Allawasaya Textile witnessed a maximum decline in its share at Rs 100.00 closing at Rs1,460.00, followed by Sapphire Fiber with a decrease of Rs 85.40 per share to close at Rs 1,120.25.
