PSX Loses 145.28 points with Bearish Trend

ISLAMABAD: After losing 24 points on Wednesday, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) lost 145.28 points on Thursday with a negative change of 0.35 per cent, closing at 41,369.17 points compared to 41,514.45 points on Thursday.

On Thursday, a total of 149,676,270 shares were transacted against 179,644,403 shares last day, while the price of shares stood at Rs.3.606 billion compared to Rs.3.755 billion on the last trading day.

Bearish Trend at PSX

The ongoing week mostly observed a bearish trend in the market as most of the companies remained in the red zone. On Thursday 309 companies traded their shares in the stock market, 77 of them witnessed gains, and 208 experienced losses, while the share price of 24 companies was settled without a change.

TPL Properties led the top-trading list with 21,691,380 shares at Rs.13.81 per share while WorldCall Telecom settled as runner-up with 17,474,550 shares at Rs.1.15 per share followed by Bankislami Pak with 9,352,057 shares at Rs.17.55 per share.

Colgate Palm XDXB witnessed a maximum appreciation of Rs.78.55 per share price, closing at Rs.1,125.89, followed by Bata (Pak) with an increase of Rs.49.48 in its per share price to Rs.1,846.48.

Meanwhile, Allawasaya Tex recorded a maximum decline of Rs.176.96 per share closing at Rs.2,188.00, followed by Sapphire Fiber with a decrease of Rs.71.34 per share to close at Rs. 1,010.00.
