PSX Maintains Bullish Trend, Gains 217 Points

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)’s 100-index maintained its bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 217.76 points, which is a positive change of 0.53 percent, thus it closed at 41,167.60 points against 40,949.84 points on the last trading day.

As many as 196,543,047 shares were traded during the day as opposed to 96,490,520 shares on previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs6.413 billion against Rs. 4.605 billion on the last trading day.

A total of 331 companies transacted their shares in the PSX; 185 of them made gains and 122 sustained losses, while the share price of 24 companies remained the same.

 

WorldCallTelecom top trading company on PSX

 

The 3 top-trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with a total of 44,210,807 shares at Rs1.26 per share; Maple Leaf with 22,383,945 shares at Rs24.03 per share, and Oil and Gas Dev. with 10,388,052 shares at Rs90.78 per share.

Sapphire Fiber witnessed a maximum rise of Rs71.77 per share price, and closed at Rs1,063.99, whereas on the second spot was Reliance Cotton with a Rs45.00 rise in its per share price to Rs645.00.

Meanwhile, Sapphire Tex saw a maximum decrease of Rs88.49 per share closing at Rs1,091.41; followed by Nestle Pakistan with Rs85.00 decrease to close at Rs5,314.00.
