PTCL Group Adopts Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Solutions to Deliver Cloud-native Services

ISLAMABAD: PTCL Group (PTCL & Ufone 4G), Pakistan’s premier telecom and IT services provider, has announced that it is adopting Red Hat OpenShift, the industry’s leading hybrid cloud application platform powered by Kubernetes and Red Hat Application Foundations.

This is a comprehensive set of components for building and upgrading software in order to support the Group’s digitalization goals. When paired with Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Application Foundations delivers a platform that streamlines execution across the application lifecycle.

It can be utilized with on-premises or cloud-based apps. This reduces Capex and Opex spending, improves productivity with speedier rollouts and automated pipelines, and enables businesses to accelerate innovation to obtain a competitive advantage. Not only will the collaboration assist PTCL Group in transitioning its legacy applications to a more robust and scalable microservices-based architecture, but it will also provide innovative cloud services to its customers.

Red Hat OpenShift is a cloud-native, unified application platform that allows organizations to swiftly design, deploy, run, and manage applications across the hybrid cloud. The Red Hat deployment meets PTCL Group’s technological needs for transitioning to microservices-based applications. Its new OpenShift-based platform can extend horizontally in a cross-cloud architectural approach, spanning on-premises and external cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and others.
