RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to launch a nationwide movement against alleged electoral rigging after Eid-ul-Fitr, beginning from Southwestern Balochistan.

PTI Leader and former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that the first rally will kick off in the Pishin district of Balochistan as part of the protest movement, with arrangements being reviewed at a meeting scheduled at Balochistan National Party Chairman Akhtar Mengal’s residence in Quetta on April 12.

Shibli Faraz, another PTI leader and former information minister, lamented the purported theft of the mandate given by the masses to the PTI during the general elections. He emphasized the importance of differentiating between individuals possessing Form 45 and Form 47, highlighting the adverse impact on investment and brain drain.

Regarding the delay in Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faraz questioned whether the province was being penalized for overwhelmingly supporting a particular party. He reiterated PTI’s commitment to upholding the constitution and law, vowing not to allow Pakistan to descend into chaos.

Omar Ayub, PTI’s MNA and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, praised former first lady Bushra Bibi, asserting that she is not a weakness but a strength for Imran Khan. He announced plans for Bushra Bibi’s medical check-up to investigate poisoning allegations.

In a significant development, incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan replaced Sher Afzal Marwat and Umair Niazi with new focal persons. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan disclosed that Imran appointed him, Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Intazar Panjutha, and Barrister Ali Zafar as the new focal persons, highlighting that the decision was made in consultation with Imran.

These changes come after Imran Khan’s initial appointments of Marwat and Umair as focal persons on March 28, confirmed Omar Ayub during media interactions in Rawalpindi.
