LAHORE: The Department of Agriculture Punjab has issued instructions to tackle wheat rust, a disease that can severely damage wheat crops if not dealt with properly.
Department of Agriculture Punjab spokesperson said that wheat was one of the very important crops in Pakistan.
Wheat Production in Punjab
He said that the wheat production in Punjab was impressive, however, cases of wheat rust attacks were reported in some northern and central parts (from Rawalpindi to Faisalabad) of the province.
The wheat rust usually affects the crops in areas having temperature levels between 10 to 20 degrees centigrade, he said.
The spokesperson urged farmers to spray their crops after the proper consultation with officials of the Department of Agriculture Punjab.
