Punjab Govt Extends Scholarship Application Deadline

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has extended the deadline for non-Muslim students studying in government institutes to submit their applications for merit-based scholarships from March 20 to April 1.

Minority students with impressive educational records, whose monthly family income does not exceed Rs48,300, will be eligible for the scholarship program for the fiscal year 2023-24.

Applicants from matric to PhD levels who hold a Punjab domicile are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Students belonging to Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and other minority communities, who are regular attendees and have scored a minimum of 40 percent marks in their latest annual examination, meet the eligibility criteria for the program.

Scholarship Details

Minority students pursuing professional degrees like BDS, MBBS, BSc (English), BSc (Nursing), DVM, Pharm-D, PhD, or equivalent qualifications are eligible for an annual scholarship of Rs50,000.

Students enrolled in postgraduate programs such as M. Com, MA, MSc, MCS/MBA, M Phil, LLM, or equivalent qualifications will be awarded Rs 35,000 annually.

Meanwhile, undergraduate students pursuing BBA, BA, BSc, B.Com, or equivalent qualifications will receive Rs30,000 per year.

Moreover, students enrolled in intermediate-level programs like F.Sc, A Level, FA, I. Com, DAE, or equivalent fields will be awarded an annual scholarship of Rs20,000. Similarly, matric-level students will receive Rs15,000 annually.

The initiative seeks to support minority students attending government institutions in the province, including those under federal jurisdiction within Punjab, in reaching their academic goals and making meaningful contributions to society.
