Punjab Govt Rejects News on Drug Crisis in Province

LAHORE: Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jan has categorically rejected the claims of a drug crisis in government hospitals, including in Multan, adding that most of the essential medicines were readily available in these hospitals.

In a statement issued here on Friday, health secretary further said that there was no truth in the reports about medicine scarcity and claimed these reports as false and misleading. He said that the provincial government has sufficient budgets and available stocks for the concerned medicines.

Ali Jan added that under the directions of the Chief Minister, free medicines were being provided in government hospitals to ensure easy access to healthcare for all and sundry.
