LAHORE: The Punjab Global Breastfeeding Week will be observed from 28 August to 2 September 2023.
The theme for this year’s observance is ‘Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents’, is aimed to raise awareness among mothers.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of Punjab, as part of the Integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition Programme.
Seminar to raise awareness about breastfeeding’s importance
A provincial launch and advocacy seminar would be organized on 28 August (Monday), at a local hotel in Lahore.
The seminar will discuss critical topics such as the current status of breastfeeding legislation in the province and formulation of policies to create a supportive environment for working mothers.
