NEW DELHI: Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas is facing threats to her life upon her arrival in Delhi, reportedly from associates of Lawrence Bishnoi, who claimed responsibility for the killing of Sidhu Moosewala.

Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas, widely recognized for hits like ‘Illegal Weapon’ and ‘Muskan,’ and her contributions to popular songs like ‘Yaar Na Miley’ from the movie ‘Kick’ and ‘Illegal Weapon 2.0’ from ‘Street Dancer 3D,’ recently arrived in India for an upcoming performance.

However, her visit took a distressing turn when she allegedly received death threats.

Sources indicate that these threats emanated from individuals associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, the notorious gangster responsible for Sidhu Moosewala’s killing on May 29, 2022, and who had also previously targeted Salman Khan. The threats were reportedly conveyed through international phone numbers and were specific, hinting at a potential attack at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where Sandlas is scheduled to perform.

In response to these threats, heightened security measures have been implemented at Sandlas’s current five-star hotel in Delhi. The Delhi police have also stepped in, providing security coverage for the singer during her stay and performance.

It’s noteworthy that Lawrence Bishnoi had earlier expressed his intent to harm Salman Khan unless the actor apologized to the Bishnoi community for his alleged involvement in the killing of a blackbuck during the filming of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Jodhpur in 1998.

The unfortunate incident involving Sidhu Moosewala, shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa, adds to the intricate web of threats and violence within the Punjabi entertainment industry.
