ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi finally responded to the burning question that has been making the rounds on social media and in the news for the last week asking why he has been donning the same white T-shirt for so long.

Rahul Gandhi finally replies

Rahul was seen on Wednesday sporting the same T-shirt on Congress Foundation Day. When a reporter asked him, “Today again in the same T-shirt? the Congress leader replied: “T-shirt hi chal rahi hai aur jab tak chal rahi hai chalayenge.” (Since the T-shirt isn’t falling apart, I’ll wear it until it can no longer be worn.)

Rahul’s decision to attend public events in just a simple shirt and no woolens has made headlines as north India experiences extreme cold.

On Tuesday, images of Rahul at a Delhi mall with his niece in the bitter cold while wearing a black T-shirt went viral. Even though it was so cold, the Congress pressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attempt a march like the Bharat Jodo Yatra for “even three hours.”

After initially making headlines at the start of the yatra when the BJP attacked Gandhi for donning a “Burberry T-shirt worth Rs 41,000,” the T-shirt has since returned to the public’s attention.

On December 21, former BJP leader Sudheendra Kulkarni tweeted, “Walked 7.5 km with a Tapasvi in his epic Bharat Jodo Yatra in Haryana this afternoon.”

Rahul Gandhi is superhuman, according to Salman Khurshid, a senior Congressman and former Union minister, as reported by ANI. He is leaving in T-Shirts while we are bundled up in jackets and shivering in the cold. He practices his tapasya with concentration, much like a yogi.
