ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah, the Punjab Chapter President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former federal interior minister, has raised questions about the intentions behind PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s recent international outreach. Sanaullah expressed concerns that Khan’s actions may inadvertently harm Pakistan’s global reputation.

In a statement, Rana Sanaullah referred to Imran Khan as the judicial system’s “favourite child” (Laadla) and questioned the necessity of the former prime minister reaching out to foreign entities. He argued that taking Pakistan’s issues to the international stage could potentially portray the nation as a convict in the eyes of the world.

Sanaullah went on to suggest that such actions were typically carried out by enemies of the country and their operatives. He insinuated that those advocating for the return, release, and resettlement of terrorists were now guiding these individuals towards a new path.

Imran Khan’s Administration Adversely Impacted Pakistan’s Economy

Furthermore, the former minister claimed that the very individuals responsible for bringing Imran Khan to power were now working to shield him from scrutiny. He alleged that Khan’s ascent to power had been accompanied by foreign funding, and subsequently, his administration had adversely impacted Pakistan’s economy and foreign relations, leading to a surge in inflation and civil unrest.

Sanaullah also voiced concerns about the influence on the nation’s youth, suggesting that certain forces were corrupting their minds, potentially leading them towards violent activities.

Regarding Imran Khan’s international actions, Sanaullah contended that these efforts were bringing satisfaction to those who had been accused of violating the rights of Kashmiris and Palestinians. He asserted that Khan, often referred to as a “puppet,” was being utilized to tarnish Pakistan’s image on the global stage, raising questions about the source of funding behind these initiatives.
