ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has called for a probe into US Cipher as a news report appearing in foreign media has substantiated former prime minister Imran Khan’s claims in this regard.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently in jail and is disqualified for five years. During his tenure, the independent policies by Imran Khan irked the United States administration. The Cipher sent by Pakistani official Asad Majeed to Foreign Office covering his discussion with American State Department official Donald Lu ‘resulted’ in Imran Khan’s ouster from office.

Rana Sanaullah time and again has asked for the authenticity of the document and to this day, the mist surrounding the Cipher finally comes to an end owing to the intercept by the foreign press that was further substantiated with briefing from the US official.

The former interior minister on social media platform X said, “Potentially, it is a very sinister, treacherous, and seditious act,”.

Matthew Miller State Department spokesperson during his press briefing in Washington confirmed Asad Majeed and Donald Lu conversation and the documents published on Imran Khan. They are kind of accurate but United States was not involved in any conspiracy. He confirmed United States was concerned about Imran Khan’s visit to Moscow and his policies but there was no preference shown towards leadership in Pakistan. Relationship with Pakistan is valued particularly in counter- terrorism, he said.

The report came at a time when National Assembly stands dissolved and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chief is disqualified for five years on corruption.
