ISLAMABAD: The spicy egg toast is a delicious and satisfying breakfast option. Following is a simple recipe for making spicy egg toast:
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp finely minced onion
- 1 tsp finely minced green chilli
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp crushed red chillies
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 slices of bread (sourdough, multigrain, or whole wheat)
Instructions:
- In a wide bowl large enough to fit the sliced bread, whisk together the m onion, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, crushed red chillies, and milk.
- Add the eggs to the mixture and whisk for about a minute until mixed well.
- Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture and gently press it down with a fork to allow the bread to absorb the egg mixture. Flip the bread over and repeat the process on the other side.
- Next, heat a nonstick pan and add 1/2 teaspoon of oil to it.
- Then carefully place the soaked bread on the pan and spoon some extra onions from the egg mixture on top.
- Cook on medium heat for about a minute or until the bottom side starts to turn golden brown.
- Turn over and cook the other side of bread for another minute until it becomes golden brown.
- Repeat with the second slice of bread.
- Serve the spicy egg toast with chutney or sauce.
