Remembering Ghazal Singer Iqbal Bano on Her Death Anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Versatile Ghazal singer Iqbal Bano was remembered on the occasion of her death anniversary on Sunday. She was born in Delhi in 1935 and received her training in the art of singing from Ustad Chand Ali Khan. Known for her mastery in semi-classical Urdu Ghazals, Iqbal Bano also lent her voice to songs for famous Urdu films like Gumnaam, Qatil, Inteqaam, Sarfarosh, and Nagin.

Iqbal Bano was a recipient of numerous national awards, including the prestigious Pride of Performance. Her contribution to the world of music and her captivating renditions of Ghazals left a lasting impact on audiences. Sadly, she passed away in Lahore on April 21, 2009, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and resonate with music lovers.
