RIYADH: A two-day event titled “France & Fashion Days” will be held in Riyadh from May 27 to May 28 to further strengthen the relations between Saudi Arabia and France through fashion
The Saudi Fashion Commission, the French embassy and Alliance Française have announced the launch of the brand-new initiative.
The two-day event planned at Art Pur Foundation Riyadh will bring together fashion lovers to attend exhibitions, conferences, training, and workshops.
Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, and Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, will jointly inaugurate the event.
Experts from the French and Saudi industry will showcase their work and share thoughts on the impact of the fashion ecosystem in today’s world. The speakers will cover the most important sector concerns, such as sustainable development, craftsmanship, and brand communication. Designers from France and Saudi Arabia will present their work in a specially curated exhibition.
The second day is scheduled for expertise-sharing, where the audience will be invited to share their experience and knowledge during workshops that will focus on the practical aspects of developing and creating a brand.
The 1999-founded Art Pur Foundation fosters the arts and culture in Saudi Arabia and helps new talent by running a fashion and design training center, holding exhibitions, and organizing cultural exchanges.
Founder and Director of the Art Pur Foundation, Princess Adwa bint Yazid bin Abdallah takes a proactive role in developing culture and arts in Saudi Arabia and is a long-term supporter of Saudi-French cooperation in the fashion sector.
Working together, France and Saudi Arabia are making mutual efforts to boost cultural understanding and develop cultural exchanges via knowledge sharing in different fields, facilitating the training of fresh professionals and increasing dialogue between experts from both sides.
The event is a part of Europe Month 2023. The festival, which honors European culture, is put on by the embassies and cultural organizations of EU Member States and runs from May 9 to June 9 in Riyadh and Jeddah.
