NEW DELHI:  Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has expressed his eagerness to play a Test match against Pakistan in future. During a discussion on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast alongside Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist and former English captain Michael Vaughan, Sharma reiterated his desire for the revival of bilateral cricket ties between the two neighboring nations.

Notably, India and Pakistan have refrained from facing each other in Test cricket since 2007, with their cricketing encounters limited to World Cups and the Asia Cup since then. Sharma emphasized the prospect of a thrilling competition between the two sides, highlighting Pakistan’s formidable bowling lineup.

He also advocated for the possibility of a neutral venue for the match, echoing the sentiment expressed when the England Cricket Board offered to host a Pakistan-India Test series. When asked about the potential benefits of such matches for the Test format by Vaughan, Sharma affirmed his belief in its positive impact, emphasizing his focus on the essence of cricket – the contest between bat and ball.
