RIYADH: Dressed in traditional attire and carrying Arabian swords, Cristiano Ronaldo, the football icon, along with his fellow Al Nassr teammates, marked the onset of Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day celebration.
The Kingdom will be celebrating this momentous occasion tomorrow (September 23).
In commemoration of this event, Al Nassr club unveiled a short film on Friday, featuring their prominent players, including the renowned Portuguese footballer Ronaldo and the former Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.
In a widely shared video clip, Ronaldo and his companions can be seen dressed in thobe, ghutra, and igal, actively participating in the Saudi al-Ardah dance.
This traditional performance art amalgamates dance, rhythmic drumming, and poetic recitations. It holds great significance as it marks both the commencement and culmination of significant events, such as religious observances, national holidays, weddings, childbirth, graduation ceremonies, and other jubilant occasions.
The Kingdom has an array of programs lined up for the National Day celebration, encompassing grandiose fireworks displays, spectacular air and marine shows, as well as vibrant parades to commemorate this special day.
