Russia, China Complete Joint Naval Drills, Practice Capturing Submarine

ISLAMABAD: According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russia and China complete joint naval drills in the East China Sea. During week-long exercises, the two sides practiced capturing an enemy submarine with the help of depth charges along with firing artillery at a warship.

The Maritime Interaction-2022 was staged from December 21 to 27. The drills were carried out in the waters off the coast of China’s Zhejiang province. Russia’s Pacific fleet took part in the event, according to a Chinese media report.

The Russian defense ministry stated that the Pacific Fleet’s warships’ detachments and naval forces People’s Liberation Army of China ended the tasks that needed to be carried out under the laid-out framework for the bilateral military drill.
