MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to engage in discussions on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and Gaza situation with the leaders of the BRICS bloc in a video conference on Tuesday, the Kremlin said.
The voice of the BRICS needed to be heard in the world, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will chair the video call with the BRICS leaders where the heads of state of six countries invited to join the group earlier this year — Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, Argentina, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates — will attend the talks, according to a statement from the presidency issued on Monday.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will also participate in the virtual meeting, it further said.
