SAN FRANCISCO: Samsung is gearing up to launch its cloud gaming service, targeting the mobile gaming market, at the upcoming Samsung Developer Conference 2023, scheduled to be held in San Francisco on October 05. The tech giant has been conducting tests of the service on Galaxy devices in North America.

With global mobile phone sales on the rise, Samsung is seeking new revenue streams, and the cloud gaming service is a strategic move in that direction. The company is reportedly in discussions with prominent game developers to bring popular titles to its platform, although the specific games available have not been disclosed yet.

Samsung’s Service May Be Free to Use

To access the latest games on this platform, users will likely have to pay the publishers, while Samsung’s service itself might be free to use. Unlike platforms like Google Play, Samsung’s service will operate independently, relieving game developers of service fees, which can amount to up to 30 percent of user payments.

The cloud streaming service is expected to be accessible through Samsung’s Game Launcher and will be exclusive to Galaxy devices. Previously, Samsung tested its cloud game streaming service in Canada, offering free games to players, creating a buzz in the gaming community. Players appreciated the freedom from having to invest in gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, making the service well-received among gamers.
