ISLAMABAD: Anam Mirza, sister of former Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza, has responded to the recent announcement of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik’s marriage to actress Sana Javed. Anam disclosed that Sania and Shoaib had been divorced for several months.
The statement comes a day after Shoaib Malik shared news of his marriage with Sana Javed, which took place in Karachi a few days ago, through an Instagram post.
In her statement, Anam Mirza shared that Sania and Shoaib’s divorce occurred a few months ago. She conveyed Sania’s well wishes to Shoaib for his new journey and urged fans and well-wishers to refrain from engaging in speculations. Anam emphasized the importance of respecting Sania’s need for privacy during this sensitive period in her life.
Shoaib Malik’s Family Unhappy
Earlier reports had suggested that Sania Mirza decided to end the marriage following their separation in late 2022, citing concerns about Shoaib’s interactions with other women. Anam’s response aims to address the circulating rumors and provide clarity on the situation.
After Shoaib Malik’s third marriage, local media reported that his family did not attend the wedding. It was further reported that Shoaib’s family expressed dissatisfaction with him for severing ties with Sania Mirza, emphasizing the sadness within the family following the divorce.
