Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Agree to Enhance Bilateral Trade Ties

ISLAMABAD: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on Tuesday agreed to boost bilateral economic and trade ties to enhance the business integration between the two countries, said a press release issued here.

Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkii has met with Caretaker Minister for Interior and Commerce Dr. Gohar Ejaz here to discuss bilateral economic cooperation.

It was agreed in the meeting, to further develop Pak-Saudi business-to-business ties and start negotiations for new business avenues.

Gohar Ejaz expressing his views said that Saudi industrialists could benefit from investment opportunities in the steel and petrochemical industry of Pakistan.

He added that the government is taking steps to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the Information Technology (IT) sector.

The minister went on to say the northern regions of Pakistan were rich in natural beauty.

He said that investing in luxury resorts in these areas could be beneficial for both the nations.

Dr. Gohar Ejaz said the ministry is working to establish ‘Brand Pakistan’ stores globally to market Pakistani products.

The interior secretary, commerce secretary and other high officials were also present during the meeting.
