ISLAMABAD: A high-level trade delegation from Saudi Arabia will arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, aiming to explore investment opportunities across various sectors in Pakistan

The 50-member delegation, according to Saudi publication Sabq, represents nearly 30 prominent companies from the Kingdom. These entities span diverse economic domains, including information technology, telecommunications, energy, aviation, construction, mining, agriculture, and human resource development.

The delegation’s agenda includes comprehensive discussions on bolstering Pakistani-Saudi Arabia trade relations and forging stronger business alliances with local entrepreneurs.

Federal Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik also confirmed the delegation visit, saying it will enhance collaboration between Islamabad and Riyadh at both governmental and private sector levels.

Minister Malik said that 76 Pakistani businesses have been identified for potential collaboration.

He revealed plans for discussions on projects ranging from $500 million to $10 billion, including initiatives for refinery modernization and investment in the Diamer-Bhasha Dam.

The delegation’s visit follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the World Economic Forum’s Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy.

During this visit, PM Shehbaz had also met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Commerce Minister Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi and discussed collaboration in various sectors.

Both leaders affirmed the dawn of a new era in economic cooperation between Islamabad and Riyadh, pledging concrete measures to elevate bilateral trade volumes.

Last month, a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, had also visited Pakistan.
