CAIRO: Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nugali, in coordination with the relevant Egyptian institutions, has followed up on the progress of delivering Saudi aid to the Palestinian people through the Rafah border crossing, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The ambassador in a statement said that the seventh plane of the Saudi assistance arrived at Al-Arish Airport yesterday adding that the airlift was in implementation of directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to initiate a fundraising campaign, which was inaugurated by a donation of the leadership with SAR50 million, to support the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The ambassador said the Saudi people’s position behind this humanitarian campaign is unsurprising, adding that donations to the campaign amounted to about SAR500 million. He stressed the Kingdom’s historical position in supporting Palestinians at the political and humanitarian levels, which contributed to end the suffering of Palestinians.
He said that the volume of relief assistance provided by Saudi Arabia has reached around 250 tons, which is expected to be doubled in the coming days by shipping it by sea.
He added the Kingdom’s keenness to ensure that relief assistance reaches those affected inside the Gaza Strip.
