Saudi Foreign Minister Attends Arab-American Ministerial Meeting on Gaza

CAIRO: Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah attended the Arab-American ministerial meeting in Cairo on Thursday to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to the SPA, the talks centered around the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause and the Gaza crisis. The participants discussed a complete ceasefire and implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 2720.

The meeting stressed the rejection of any attempts to displace the people of Palestine from their territory as well as any future military offensive in the Palestinian city of Rafah.

The participants underscored the need to establish an independent Palestinian state in line with international reference while implementing the two-state solution.

Deputy Head of Saudi Arabia’s Mission to the US, Prince Musab bin Mohammed bin Fahd; the Director-General for Arab Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mahmoud Qattan; Advisor to the Foreign Minister, Mohammed Alyahya and the Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Manal Radwan were also present on the occasion.

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashemi, and Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein Al-Sheikh attended the meeting.
