Saudi Investment in Pakistan to Foster Regional Stability: FM Dar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the transformative potential of Saudi investment in Pakistan during his address to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) Forum, attended by a high-powered Saudi delegation.

He said that Saudi investment would not only strengthen the deeply rooted partnership between the two brotherly countries but also make a sterling contribution to regional peace and stability. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation was led by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During his address, Dar highlighted the aim to position Pakistan as a hub for economic activity and innovation, creating an attractive environment for global investors, particularly those from Saudi Arabia.

He underscored the deeply rooted connection between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing shared strategic interests and Islamic heritage.

Dar outlined Pakistan’s abundant opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, mining, and renewable energy. He highlighted the potential for Pakistan to emerge as a regional leader in agriculture technology and food processing, leveraging its fertile land and water resources. Additionally, he emphasized the untapped potential in the mining sector, particularly in areas rich in copper, gold, and other valuable minerals.

Highlighting the role of the SIFC in facilitating investments, Dar expressed confidence in the platform’s ability to streamline processes and expedite decision-making, highlighting the crucial role of the SIFC in facilitating investments.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the efficient handling of investments and maximizing the benefits for both countries.

In conclusion, Dar emphasized the significance of strengthening the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, urging both sides to seize the abundant opportunities ahead through collaborative efforts.

The visiting delegation consists of the Saudi Minister of Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley; Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef; Assistant Minister of Investment, Ibrahim bin Yousef Al-Mubarak; Head of Saudi Special Committee, Mohammed Maziad Al-Tuwaijri; and senior officials from Ministry of Energy and Saudi Public Investment Fund.
