Saudi NCEC Conducts 1,900 Field Inspections in Makkah, Madinah to Ensure Quality Environment

RIYADH: The National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) is performing 1,900 field inspections in the regions of Makkah and Madinah to ensure environment quality during the month of holy Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

The inspections will be carried out according to the center’s seasonal plans and aims to ensure the compliance of all facilities with environmental regulations during Ramadan as the number of visitors and pilgrims increases.

NCEC spokesperson Saad Al-Matrafi said that the center started field inspections with commencement of the month of Shaaban and will continue to do so during the Umrah season.

A total of 1,500 tours will be conducted at the Makkah region, while 400 tours will be conducted in the Madinah region.

He said, during the tours, food and beverage factories, subsistence factories, food refrigerators, and gasoline stations located along the route of visitors and pilgrims in the central region will be incepted.

The aim of the initiative is to ensure that all facilities comply with environmental standards according to the rules and regulations of the environmental system.
