SBP Announces Bank Holidays for Ashura

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on Tuesday, announced public holidays on 28, 29 July on the account of 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram.

SBP said in a statement that the State Bank of Pakistan and all the commercial banks, Micro Finance Banks (MFB), and Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) would remain closed on 28 and 29 July 2023 on public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9 and 10 Muharram 1445 A.H).

The public holidays would be followed by Sunday, and thus the banks would remain closed for three consecutive days.

Public Holidays on Account of Muharram-ul-Haram

The federal government had already announced public holidays on 28 and 29 July on account of Muharram-ul-Haram.
