ABU DHABI: Scotland’s journey to the Women’s T20 World Cup this autumn takes them to a clash against England, following their defeat to Sri Lanka in the ICC qualifier final in Abu Dhabi.

Despite securing their spot in the tournament, their quest for silverware was halted as Sri Lanka claimed victory by 68 runs. Now placed in Group B, Scotland will face Bangladesh, South Africa, and West Indies before their encounter with England in Dhaka on October 14th.

The absence of captain Kathryn Bryce, sidelined due to injury, left Scotland unable to counter the match-winning performance by Chamari Athapaththu, who scored a blistering 102 off 63 balls. Sri Lanka’s triumph places them in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, India, and Pakistan.
