PESHAWAR: The Khyber Medical University (KMU) will be re-conducting the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) tomorrow (November 26) to uphold fairness, following the directives of the Government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Peshawar High Court.

The MDCAT, a pivotal gateway for prospective students aspiring to join medical and dental colleges in the province, has garnered significant attention. A total of 46,220 candidates are set to partake in the examination across seven districts: DI Khan, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Dir Lower, Swat, and Abbottabad. Notably, 219 individuals previously involved in cheating during the last test have been barred from participation.

KMU has dispatched the MDCAT Roll number slips to the candidates. The exam is scheduled to commence at 10:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. However, stringent guidelines are in place prohibiting students from carrying clipboards, water, juices, pens, and pencils, as directed by the district administration spokesperson.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has meticulously devised a comprehensive traffic and security strategy to ensure the smooth flow of candidates and prevent any disruptions during the MDCAT exam. Key initiatives encompass the closure of Coffee Shop Road in Peshawar to traffic and a ban on vehicle parking within a 200-meter radius of the test centers.

To safeguard the examination’s integrity, sources from the Home Ministry divulge that the Peshawar Police will oversee the printing of exam papers and supervise critical operations. Moreover, Khyber Medical University will assign a dedicated team of exam staff, supported by police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to ensure secure transportation of all exam materials.

Security measures at the testing centers will be stringent, featuring walk-through gates and the presence of female police officers. To maintain an unbiased exam environment, cellular services around all test centers will be temporarily disabled during the examination hours.
