HONG KONG: In a recent event, the Mariana Islands experienced a seismic jolt with an earthquake measuring 5.9 in magnitude.
The GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences reported that the incident occurred at 04:01:37 GMT. The earthquake’s epicenter was initially located at 18.83 degrees north latitude and 145.32 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 591.1 km.
This seismic activity highlights the region’s susceptibility to tectonic events and underscores the importance of ongoing monitoring and research efforts to better understand and mitigate the impact of earthquakes in the Mariana Islands.
