Shaheen Shah Afridi Becomes Top Bowler in ICC ODI Rankings, Babar Azam No 1 in Batting

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi has cliched top position in the ICC One-Day International (ODI) bowler rankings, showcasing his brilliance during the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

The 23-year-old fast bowler’s stellar performance earned him seven crucial points, propelling him to the coveted number one position. His exceptional display not only made him the number one ODI bowler but also earned him the title of the quickest fast-bowler to reach 100 wickets in the ODI format, achieved during a match against Bangladesh.

In the batting department, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, continued his reign as the top-ranked batter with an impressive 818 points, narrowly ahead of India’s rising star, Shubman Gill, who closely trails with 816 points.

Additionally, Pakistan’s batting lineup witnessed a surge in rankings, with Fakhar Zaman making significant progress, now standing at 14th place, and Imam-ul-Haq securing the 11th position. Among the bowlers, Haris Rauf registered improvement by gaining five points, elevating his ranking to the 26th position. Wasim Jr also demonstrated a notable rise, climbing 18 points to secure the 56th position in the ICC ODI bowler rankings.
