Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ Movie Submitted to Indian Censor Board, Changes Suggested

ISLAMABAD: The Indian Bollywood actor and superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated, sensational and controversial movie ‘Pathaan’ has been officially submitted to the Indian censor board before its official release in India. The ‘Pathaan’ is set to release in India on 25 January 2023 in Hindi, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, and Telugu, the other two major languages of India.

Indian Censor board on ‘Pathaan’

The censor board of India, known as the Indian Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) which plays the role of censor board of Indian Bollywood movies, its chairperson Prasoon Joshi has asked the producers of ‘Pathaan’ to make suggested changes in the movie and its songs.

Controversy of ‘Pathaan’

The Indian movie ‘Pathaan’ which is produced by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan who also played the role of the hero in the film and is directed by Siddharth Anand, under the umbrella of Yash Raj Films, ‘Pathaan’ got caught up in a major controversy in India.

The extremist Hindus after the release of ‘Pathaan’s first song ‘Besharam Rung’ has sparked controversy against the movie and its producer and hero Shah Rukh Khan.

The controversy arose over actress Deepika Padukone’s saffron-colored dress in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ of the film ‘Pathaan’. After that, the Indian Hindu extremists called for a ban on the film, calling it a desecration of the Hindu religion.

Death threats to ‘Pathaan’ producer

However, Indian Hindu extremist after demanding the ban on ‘Pathaan’ has come down to death threats against Shah Rukh Khan. The Hindu extremist Pandit Parmahans Acharya has threatened to burn Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh alive and has performed the symbolic last rites of Shah Rukh Khan.

Viral Video against ‘Pathaan’

In a viral video on social media, the Hindu extremist Pandit can be heard threatening Shah Rukh Khan over the issue of the film ‘Pathaan’ during a conversation with Indian media.

He said that today they burnt the poster of Shah Rukh Khan and they are looking for if they find Shah Rukh Khan somewhere, they will burn him alive.

Indian politicians against ‘Pathaan’

Various Indian politicians including the Indian State Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly speaker Girish Gautam and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra also raised issues and concerns over the wardrobe worn by both Deepika and Shah Rukh.
