DHAKA: Bangladesh has received a significant boost as Shakib Al Hasan, their premier spin-bowling all-rounder, is set to make his T20I comeback following ten months, just weeks before the T20 World Cup 2024 starts.

Having last graced the T20I arena in July 2023 during a home clash against Afghanistan, Shakib finds himself enlisted in Bangladesh’s roster for the final duo of T20Is against Zimbabwe. With Bangladesh already securing an insurmountable lead of 3-0 in the ongoing five-match series, Shakib’s return adds considerable strength to the squad as they gear up for the Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

With a wealth of experience garnered from 117 T20Is, Shakib boasts an impressive record of 2382 runs and 140 wickets. While Bangladesh is yet to unveil their squad for the upcoming 2024 event, Shakib’s timely resurgence hints at a promising inclusion in the T20 World Cup roster
