CM Sindh Address in Assembly
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, in his address during the final session of the Sindh assembly, acknowledged the challenges faced during the five-year tenure and praised the historical significance of the Sindh Assembly. He reflected on his political journey, tracing back to the encouragement he received from the late Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to contest the 2002 elections. Serving as the chief minister for four terms since then, Chief Minister Shah emphasized the assembly’s resilience in the face of adversity.
The chief minister highlighted the impact of natural disasters, such as floods that destroyed over 2.1 million houses and led to the loss of basic infrastructure for 20,000 schools. He underscored the government’s commitment to overcoming destabilization efforts and overcoming obstacles that hindered the assembly’s functioning.
Chief Minister Shah also commended the government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, noting the establishment of healthcare facilities and hospitals in record time. He pointed out that the pandemic response outperformed that of some developed countries, showcasing the province’s dedication to public health.
