Skytrax Awards: Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport Declared Best Regional Airport

MADINAH: Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport of Madinah Airport has been declared the Best Regional Airport in the Middle East for 2024 at the Skytrax World Airport Awards, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The awards ceremony was held in Frankfurt, Germany, and is highly valued in the airport industry as it is based on the largest annual customer satisfaction survey, where customers from different parts of the world cast their votes. More than 550 airports took part in the survey.

This recognition highlights Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport’s steadfast commitment to delivering top services and an exceptional experience to travelers.

Award solidifies airport’s position

The award solidifies the airport’s position as one of the world’s best airports.

The CEO of Tibah Airports Operation Company, Sofiene Abdessalem, expressed his pride and appreciation for this remarkable achievement. He praised the persistent efforts of Tibah Airports employees and airport partners under the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for this success.

Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport has previously earned this recognition from Skytrax in both 2020 and 2021. The airport has received several other global and local awards and acknowledgments for providing exceptional services.

The airport is currently undergoing expansion projects with new travel connections, offering passengers extensive travel options.

Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the second phase of the airport’s expansion project In March.

The phase includes the development of the terminal and a new terminal for domestic flights. The project focuses on enhancing the airport’s capacity to accommodate up to 17 million passengers annually by the end of 2027.
