South Korean Singer Park Bo-ram Passes Away at Age 30

SEOUL: South Korean singer Park Bo-ram tragically passed away at the age of 30 on Thursday (Apr 11), confirmed by her agency Xanadu Entertainment in a statement.

According to reports, Park was with friends at a residence when she was found unconscious in a bathroom around 9:55pm (South Korean time). Despite efforts to revive her, she passed away at the hospital around 11:17pm.

In response to her sudden passing, Xanadu Entertainment expressed deep sadness and mourning, extending condolences to fans who supported Park Bo-ram throughout her career. The agency announced that funeral arrangements will be made in consultation with her family and requested the public to refrain from speculative reports.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation, with an autopsy scheduled for Saturday (Apr 13) to determine the cause of death.

Park Bo-ram gained fame after participating in the Mnet audition show Superstar K2 in 2010, subsequently making her official debut with the song “Beautiful” in 2014. She was known for hits like “Sorry,” “Celepretty,” and “Dynamic Love,” and notably contributed to the OST of the 2015 K-drama Reply 1988 with the song “Hyehwadong” (or “Ssangmundong”).

Before her untimely passing, Park was reportedly preparing for a comeback to mark the 10th anniversary of her debut.
