South Korea’s President Receives Warm Welcome in UAE

DUBAI: The President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, on Sunday arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for an official multi-day visit.

Emirati fighter jets accompanied the aircraft carrying the president of South Korean president as it entered the UAE’s airspace to greet the guest of the country, state news agency WAM reported.

Yeol received an honor guard welcome as he arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, accompanied by First Lady Kim Keon-hee. The president was welcomed with an official reception ceremony. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also accompanied Yeol during the reception ceremony.

Reception ceremony in honour of South Korea’s president

The reception ceremony included a performance of the Korean national anthem, followed by 21 artillery rounds fired, and guards of honour lining up to salute the South Korean President, WAM news agency reported.  

Sheikh Mohammed received Yoon Suk Yeol at Qasr Al Watan, WAM stated. The South Korean leader will talk with Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed to discuss bilateral ties and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. 

He will also participate in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which runs from January 14 to 19. He will also visit key development projects during his trip.
