COLOMBO: Sri Lanka is grappling with a countrywide power outage attributed to a system failure, according to a government official.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), the country’s power monopoly, is actively working to address the issue and restore power. A senior CEB official confirmed that the nationwide power failure resulted from a systems failure in the main supply line.
Investigations are underway to determine the root cause of the incident, and measures are being implemented to expedite the restoration of power to affected areas.
