SWAT: The Swat Police has formulated a security plan to ensure seamless security in the Swat Valley during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holiday with prime focus on tourist safety.
This plan includes the establishment of tourism facilitation centers in Lower Swat and Upper Swat, deployment of police squads and cancellation of leaves for all officials and employees.
According to the security agreement, the police will be responsible for the security of Eid gatherings, mosques, markets and tourist places. Dr. Zahidullah Khan, DPO Swat, has prepared an effective security plan for the Eid holidays, which includes deployment of the elite special forces of the police to provide additional support.
Anticipating the large influx of tourists to Upper Swat during Eid al-Fitr, tourism promotion centers have been set up in important tourist destinations such as Malam Jabba, Kalam, Mahodhand and Gabin Jabba.
Besides, heavy police presence has been ordered to ensure peaceful celebration of Eid and prevent any untoward incident.
In addition, the police are tasked with patrolling the area to prevent anti-social activities during the festival. Swat DPO Dr. Zahidullah Khan asked people to refrain from aerial firing and one-wheeling on Chand raat and cooperate with the police. —APP
