ISLAMABAD: An appeal has been filed with the Pakistan top court on Wednesday, challenging the dismissal of a case against the former Prime Minister Imran Khan related to speeches made against state institutions.

Abdul Khaleel Kakar, the petitioner, contested the decision of the Balochistan High Court (BHC). He argued that Imran Khan, who also the chairman of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf had not cooperated with the investigation, yet the police had submitted a case challan against him to the court.

The petition pointed out that the BHC’s verdict appeared to be contrary to the facts. The PTI Chairman had sought the BHC’s intervention to quash the FIR and lift the arrest warrants against him.

Allegations Against Imran Khan

It was mentioned that Imran Khan had made allegations against state institutions in his speeches at Zaman Park, and the BHC had dismissed the case and arrest warrants against him on August 28.

The appeal requested the court to overturn the BHC’s judgment and reinstate the case against the PTI chief.
