ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s acclaimed actor, Fawad Khan, has termed the release of the Pakistani film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India as a big warm handshake from both sides and a positive diplomatic gesture between the two neighbouring countries. Though the movie is facing a lot of hurdles and ifs and buts.
In an interview with CNN, The Legend of Maula Jatt’s hero, Fawad Khan, was optimistic about Pakistan’s film industry’s progress and noted that the year 2022 as a whole was a big year for the Pakistani film industry. “I am a small part of the film industry,” he said.
Fawad Khan said that the film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt had pushed the boundaries of film production in terms of techniques and viewership with its global release and success in Pakistan.
Fawad Khan’s role in Ms Marvel
To a question about the Marvel Studios series ‘Ms Marvel’ in which Fawad Khan starred as Hassan, the Pakistani actor said, “My role as Hassan in Ms Marvel was very exciting.”
“It is always good to be reminded of history, and you cannot ignore it, even if you want to. It was a major historical event of the 20th century that was not viewed by the world as it happened, it was way bloodier and more tragic, and much more blood was lost than known by people across the globe; huge sacrifices were made during that time,” Fawad said while narrating the whole event.
Fawad Khan said that being part of the film Ms Marvel production process was a great experience adding that it is always more grounding and great work to work on such a great project.
Ms Marvel (2022) was the name of the TV mini-series produced by Marvel Studios of Disney’s production aired in June 2022. In this series, Fawad Khan played Hassaan.
