CALIFORNIA: Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that his new social media platform Threads, will now support sharing posts to Instagram DMs, custom alt text for videos and photos and a new mention button.
The Send option on Insta will let users publish their Threads posts directly to Instagram DMs as Meta tries to ensure Instagram users are equally connected with Threads.
After rapidly falling engagement at the Twitter-competing platform, Meta has been continously releasing new updates and adding latest features to retain users.
Threads’ new features
The custom alt-text option is an accessibility feature which will let users on Threads to add or edit existing auto-generated alt text for videos and photos before uploading.
Additionally, the metion button will make it easier to tag people in Threads’ posts. The firm has also made it simpler for users to verify their identity on fediverse platforms like Mastodon.
