ISLAMABAD: The ticket prices for the much-anticipated match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan have witnessed a high hike due to growing anticipation amongst the cricket lovers and fans. Scheduled to commence on June 1, the tournament will feature the much-awaited face-off between the two teams on June 9 in New York.
According to media reports, ticket prices for the match have skyrocketed to $2,500, a significant increase from the previous $1,300. The surge is attributed to heightened demand from the sizable Pakistani and Indian diaspora in the US and Canada vying for seats at the highly anticipated fixture.
With India holding a dominant record of six victories in seven T20 World Cup encounters against Pakistan, anticipation for the match is palpable. Spanning from June 1 to 29, the T20 World Cup will be hosted across three venues in the US and six in the West Indies.
The tournament’s opening match will see the US facing off against Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. Notably, the 20 qualifying teams will be divided into four groups of five, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 8 round.
