SINGAPORE: TikTok, the popular video-sharing app, has unveiled its latest feature, text posts, offering a new format for creators to share text-based content on the platform. This expansion aims to broaden the options for content creation, providing users with a dedicated space to express their creativity through written content.

With text posts, creators can now share their stories, poems, recipes, and other written content, giving them another avenue to connect with their audience and showcase their ideas. This new feature complements the existing content formats on TikTok, which include LIVE videos, photos, Duets, and Stitch.

Creating a text post is simple and user-friendly. Upon accessing the Camera page, users can choose from three options: photo, video, or text. Opting for the text option directs them to the text creation page, where they can type out the content of their post. Once the text is ready, they can customize the post with various features, such as adding Sound, tagging a location, enabling comments, and allowing Duets, making text posts just as interactive and dynamic as video or photo posts.

TikTok’s New Feature

The text posts offer a range of features to make the content stand out. Users can enhance their text with stickers that relate to the content, add relevant tags and hashtags, choose from a variety of background colors, and even incorporate sounds to create a unique and engaging experience for readers. Similar to video or photo posts, users can also save drafts for later editing or discard them entirely.

TikTok’s expansion into text posts opens up new possibilities for creators and provides users with a more diverse and engaging platform for sharing their ideas. The addition of this feature aims to encourage more creativity and further solidify TikTok’s position as a leading platform for content creation and expression.
