Today’s Intraday Update, Rupee has Shown a Slight Uptick Against US Dollar

KARACHI: During the initial trading hours on Friday, the Pakistani rupee saw a slight uptick against the US dollar, gaining 0.12% in the inter-bank market. By 10:15am, it was trading at 279.15, marking a rise of Re0.33 compared to the dollar.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the rupee registered a slight uptick on Thursday, settling at 279.48 against the US dollar.

The government is preparing to engage in discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) within the next couple of days regarding tariff rationalization, according to media reports.

This initiative aims to reduce industrial tariffs to $0.1175 per unit from $0.14 per unit through a subsidy-neutral proposal.
